Solar Panels for Homes Across Ireland

Solar panels and optional battery storage for your home. Installation across Ireland from Kilcock, with Meath, Kildare and Dublin as core areas.

Solar Panel Home

Home Solar PV Installation

For homeowners across Ireland, we design solar panels around your roof, energy use and budget. Meath, Kildare and Dublin are our core areas, with installations available nationwide. Ask about battery storage, monitoring, EV charging and relevant SEAI grants.

Solar Operations

Commercial & Farm Solar PV

We design solar PV for businesses, farms, schools and other organisations across Ireland. Your system is planned around available roof space and daytime electricity demand. We explain monitoring, installation and applicable SEAI grant requirements before work begins.

Planning Your Solar Installation

Your assessment starts with your roof, electricity use and budget. We explain solar panel capacity, optional battery storage and monitoring, then prepare a tailored proposal. Estimated savings and payback depend on the system and how you use electricity.

Solar Installation Questions

Do solar panels work on cloudy days?

Yes. Solar PV uses daylight, so panels can generate electricity when the sky is overcast. Output varies with the weather, season, roof direction and shading. Your design should include an estimate for your property.

Do I need a battery with solar panels?

A battery is optional. It can store surplus solar electricity for later use, but adds to the installation cost. We review your electricity use and when you are at home to discuss whether storage suits you.

Will solar panels and a battery work during a power cut?

Backup power needs a system designed for it. A standard grid-connected solar installation switches off when the grid fails. A battery alone does not guarantee backup. Ask us about suitable equipment, safe isolation and which circuits your proposed system can support.

Does my roof need to face south?

South-facing roofs generally produce the most electricity, but other orientations can be suitable. Roof condition, shading and usable space matter too. An assessment helps us plan a system around your property and electricity demand.

How much will my solar installation cost?

The price depends on panel capacity, roof access, the inverter, optional battery and electrical work. Your name and email are enough to enquire. An electricity bill helps us refine your proposal when available. Request a free solar assessment for a tailored proposal; an official quotation follows a site visit.

Which SEAI solar and battery grants can I apply for?

Eligibility depends on your property, the measure and the scheme. Our October 2026 solar and battery grant guide explains the current options for homes, eligible households, businesses and farms. Receive SEAI approval before work starts.

Do you install solar panels throughout Ireland?

Yes. EKR Solar serves homeowners across Ireland from our Kilcock base. Meath, Kildare and Dublin remain our core service areas. Tell us where your property is when you enquire so we can plan your assessment.
